Mrs. Mary "Billie" Turk, 86, of Oakwood died Thursday, February 11, 2010 at her residence.
A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mrs. Turk was the daughter of the late Hubert and Fay Gaines. Mrs. Turk worked in the family businesses and also at Parks Lumber Company for a number of years. She was a member of the Chicopee Baptist Church and a member and teacher of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. Mrs. Turk was preceded in death by her husbands, Raymond Cagle and Royce Turk, and sister, Martha Pinson.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Pam Turk, Oakwood, Brooks and Cece Cagle, Thomaston; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Billie Gaines, Flowery Branch; sister, Dorcas Taylor, Oakwood; grandchildren; Teri and Joe McCrea, Columbus, Allen Cagle, Lawrenceville, Emily and Courtney Simmons, Gainesville, Jesse and Allison Turk, Dawsonville, Mary Turk, Gainesville, Michael Turk, Athens; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Carson McCrea,Mia, Zoe and Ava Simmons; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2010 in the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Phil Carpenter and Rev. Darin Vogt will officiate. Interment will be in the Alta Vista Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, February 13, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and again from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, that family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Chicopee Baptist Church, #13 First Street, Chicopee, Gainesville, Ga. 30504
